    "Grow your own" - based in Aberdeen

    18th March 2010 to 17th June 2010, a series of nine 2-hour classes - FULLY BOOKED

    "Growing your own vegetables" - based on the Vital Veg farm at North Tillydaff - April and May 2010

    10.30am to 3.30pm

    This course is in two parts. You can sign up up for either part, or both parts. The courses will cost £55.00 per person per day (maximum 12 people) and will include a lunch made from vegetables and salads from the farm, tea/coffee and homemade cake - all organic of course!

    The total cost for both parts booked together is £100.00.

    There will be a mixture of slides, demonstrations, some hands-on activity and a look at some of the vegetables growing on the farm:

    Part 2: Looking after your veg plants to ensure a good harvest:

    Understanding your soil - your number one asset
    Extending the season with cloches, tunnels and crop covers
    Challenges to raising veg - how to combat pests, diseases, weeds and weather
    When and how to harvest
    Green manuring - getting your soil ready for next season
